Cranial Sacral Massage

Cranial Sacral massage is a very gentle and subtle yet powerful method of massage around the neck and head that focuses on easing the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. Cerebrospinal fluid is a major player in the central nervous system and carries nutrients through the brain, along the spinal column, and into the sacrum. It is especially calming, dreamy, and relaxing. It is helpful in:

~ Relieving emotional and physical stress: trauma, anxiety, depression, ptsd

~ Gastrointestinal issues:constipation, IBS

~ Disrupted sleep cycles and insomnia, chronic fatigue

~ Pain: neck, hip, scoliosis, fibromyalgia, headaches, migraines

~ Sinus infections, TMJ, teeth grinding, earaches

 

Acupressure

The framework that informs my use of acupressure comes from an ancient system of classical east Asian medicine that involves a theory of yin and yang which shows the dynamism of energy and matter through cycles of life, both in our universe at a cosmic scale and in our bodies and cells at a micro scale. There are meridians that run like rivers through the body that have their own elemental, energetic, and functional characteristics that we will utilize. Along these meridians are acupressure points which correspond to high electrical conductance points on the body surface. Although we are touching the surface of the body with light to deep pressure, depending on what is desired, we can communicate with deep organ systems in the body including the digestive systems, nervous system, lymphatic system, immune system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, and musculoskeletal system. This can help with experiences like pain, headaches, menstrual issues, emotional trauma, depression, anxiety, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues, night sweats, fatigue.

 
 

Guasha

A type of deeper tissue massage with a copper tool. Treats: stuck pain patterns, digestive issues, circulatory issues, respiratory issues.

 

Energy work

Posture

We can identify tension patterns in your body that are causing pain and restriction and come up with stretches and self-care practices for postural realignment.
